Ruben's Story

Ruben “Sincere” Santiago is a living testimony of transformation, purpose, and God’s grace. Raised across twelve foster homes and later facing years of incarceration, Ruben’s life took a powerful turn after the devastating loss of his teenage son to brain cancer. Instead of letting pain destroy him, he turned it into purpose. Ruben founded K.O.P.—Keeping Kids Out of Prison—a movement dedicated to steering youth away from crime through mentorship, school partnerships, intervention talks, and hands-on community engagement. Today, Ruben serves as a Peer Navigator at Ledge Light Health District, helping individuals recovering from addiction and returning from incarceration find stability, support, and hope. His life is driven by compassion, service, and a desire to prevent others from walking the same painful path he once knew.

Our Mission

To break cycles of incarceration, addiction, and hopelessness by empowering youth, strengthening families, and walking alongside individuals in recovery and re-entry. Through mentorship, real-life testimony, community events, and faith-rooted support, Ruben Santiago aims to bring healing, opportunity, and transformation to the next generation.

Our Vision

A world where no young person feels alone, unwanted, or unseen. A community where children grow with guidance, families receive support, and those returning from incarceration are given grace, resources, and a path forward. Through compassionate mentorship and Christ-centered hope, we envision restored lives and safer, stronger communities.

Hope lives.
